Grade: (6) Distinction

This course introduced fundamental precepts of communicating ideas and information around the delivery of products and services (branding) and investigated how visual communication and brand identity can be used as a form of social critique. I worked towards developing my own ethical framework within a global brand design context. I created my own brand strategy to produce a fake business to solve an ethical issue.

We are required to create a fictional brand identity that aims to bring light to issues within an industry sector. I have chosen the skincare and toiletry industry and created 'SocioSoaps' that highlights mass consumption within domestic households. This brand identity includes all visual aspects of the brand such as the use of the Brand Mark, Technical Specifications and Branded Application.

My project was a sustainable soap brand that marketed one soap for every part of your body.

Many beauty companies capitalise off mass consumption, and my new brand aims to be sustainable and will produce one soap for everything (it's not a real concept, but challenges the global issue of mass consumption).

'SocioSoaps' aims to minimise the need for so much soap in your bathroom! The products can be used anywhere on your body, minimising the amount of soap you need for your shower routine. Through our mission, we value our planet - helping you reduce your environmental impact of mass consumption.

Don't worry, we have your back. Love your body. Love your planet. Love for all.
