This course examines the roles design plays in society. Designers propose solutions for complex problems, but they also produce and reproduce cultural meanings. I had to develop a public design project while learning ethical criteria to evaluate the social impact of my process.


Australia has one of the highest costs of living in the world.

Australians are paying higher prices for their daily necessities as the cost of living continues to soar to unprecedented levels. But why is this happening?


The cost of living is steadily rising all over the world, not just in Australia. The short answer is inflation, but it’s not that simple. Everyone in Australia, particularly lower income workers are noticing more and more everyday items such as groceries, coffee, petrol, housing costs, are all rising in price. Mostly impacted by COVID-19, climate change, and global supply chain issues due to conflict in Europe. One of my key strengths as a designer is my ability to solve creative problems and I have strong passion for modern and sustainable design solutions.
